14 May - Abandoned Sunset Railway

Woohoo finally an update onto my semi dying blog.. partially to blame twitter and my working timetable.. but here i am once again.. trying to revive this blog.. Looking back.. this blog had reach the dying point quite several times already throughout its lifespan.. but luckily i was quick enough to eletricify it back to life.. and so this blog lasted with me over 5 years.. =)

Qiann and I met up with A&W for a buffet lunch at a very ulu Japanese Restaurant as we purchased some discounted coupons and was trying to use them before they expire.. But we felt like it was a scam because it seems that even without the coupon.. you could have gotten the price.. Nevertheless.. quite an average meal i guess and if not for the discount.. it would not be worth it as its quite the price of a high end restaurant..

However the main highlight of the day wasnt about the buffet.. but about exploring an abandoned part of Singapore which has sparked the interest of the whole FG.. So we met up with the rest of the gang and took a bus down until we reach the nearest bus stop.. and from then on we have to be on foot..

Even without my smart phone at that time.. thanks to its smart owner.. we managed to find a portion of the track much hidden by all the grass and plants covering it.. Well at least we now can confirmed that no train will be approaching us while we explore on.. So following what was remaining.. we walked on the track towards the bridge which is marked as our destination.. Afterall we aint here for all grass and weeds are we?

And so we walked.. and walked.. and walked.. definitely no stroll in the park as there were broken tracks.. loose rocks.. and more vegetation hiding the tracks.. but we persevere on towards our common goal.. The Bridge..

And we caught sight of the bridge! There was a small signboard there though so we were wondering what it was until we were finally close enough to read it and the smile appeared on most of our face.. You see.. Nothing interest a FGer more than a DANGER KEEP OUT sign.. Maybe the NO TRESPASSING sign too but both meant the same way.. to keep ordinary people out and for those that truly seek an adventure to enter.. Well.. Here we are.. =)

It was all thanks to one photo of a person that is standing IN the track that made me so interested in this and did so much research for it.. and so the first thing i did was to find that special spot and had the exact photo taken the way i like it.. Mind you there are limited special spots because the rest will be a great view to the grass or the river below.. and as much as we like Danger.. that is beyond our limit..

And i am too lazy to caption everything so here you go.. some of the more interesting photos in my collection.. There are still a group of photos that someone have not sent to me.. so if you are feeling guilty.. remember to send them to me.. =)

And just when i was opposite the track.. everyone is on the other side together.. but are all busy with their individual things.. Found this quite humorous and so my finger snap right away..

And again i say.. No outing is complete without a group shot.. so here's to the great and almighty Family Gang..
