Lunch @ Dozo

Went to Dozo Restaurant after i chanced upon it while having lunch during my work.. Didnt know it was located so near to my workplace and my grandparents house.. Read quite a lot of good reviews about it a while back so decided to bring Qiann here for a mini celebration over our 1000th day and upcoming 33th monthsary.. And spoiler: Fantastically AWESOME.. Their service is also really top-notch which can easily outdo any 5star restaurant standards..

They first served this decoration piece when we sat down.. If not that they informed us.. we probably thought its a table decoration and leave it by the side.. but it is actually fried udon that is meant for us to munch on while checking out its menu.. A really nice touch so that we can start having things to chew instead of waiting with a growling stomach.. And that udon tasted so nice we finished it before our first dish came.. And guess whad! THEY REFILLED!

After we placed our orders which took a while because of the variety of choices.. they served us an unexpected welcome drink of plum juice or something.. It is said to open up our appetite but we were already starving but still it taste delicious.. And just to bring up at this point of time.. they pay alot of attention into the decorations of the food.. Everything is just presented so nicely that I was just busy taking photos instead of downing it immediately..

Finally the first dish which is the Chef Selection of Starters.. Look very little but its more of the quality rather than the quantity.. The smoked salmon, scallops and foie gras are just rich of taste and presented so nicely (once again).. I didnt get to know what that "soap bubbles" above my scallops was because the staff said its just for decoration and the main thing is the scallop hidden below.. Really.. presentation style: 11stars over 10!

Qiann had the Stewed Beef Tendon with Puff Pastry.. The staff introduced them to us as the Flyer and the Esplanade which was really interesting because we wouldnt have notice if he didnt tell us.. and after we noticed it.. it was so clear that we wonder why we didnt guessed it originally..

Had the Escargots with Yuzu Butter myself.. I have no idea what the butter is so i didnt capture that taste.. but had a craving for snail meat and they just taste wonderful.. No weird taste or slimy feeling but just a nice piece of meat to enjoy..

Finally Qiann decided to try it out herself.. Gave her the only snail intact the shell to dig out herself and she seems to have quite a great time with it.. She also tried half the meat even though she isnt really a fan of exotic food.. Well done! =)

Next came the soup.. Most of them were seafood so Qiann choices were quite limited.. She had the Mushroom soup with Truffles which is a very expensive mushroom.. That small black thing on the spoon is the raw "large" piece of truffles.. Usually it is chopped super finely and dropped into the soup but this one allow you to chew on it itself.. I had the Crab Bisque Cappuccino which was served in a unique cup and its meant to be drank down like a cup of coffee.. Strong smell and taste of crab and just thumbs-up..

Main Course! The Atlantic Cod Fillet was fresh and big enough to be filling.. especially after all the small dishes beforehand.. I had the Beef Tenderloin on some hot stone which the leaf that seperate my meat from the rock looked very much like its from the trees outside.. But this is way better than presenting it on a Hot Plate like other restaurants.. Though its quite so-so on this part..

Lastly was the drinks and desserts.. Small portions but just the right size to end of the meal.. Had some warm chocolate browie with cold ice cream while Qiann had her much craved cheese cakes.. However just when we thought everything is over.. they surprised us with....

An extra dish.. Nothing delicious but this just brought the experience to a whole new level.. Surprises are always well sought after in such restaurant and we were really touched by their little actions.. They even offered to help us take photos together without us asking for it.. All and all.. the price was a little steep but the food and experience there is totally worth the money.. Will definitely be back for another happy occassion to try out all the other dishes..

Cant wait to bring Qiann out to try new places and foods again! <3
