Wow, the previous post is like 8 days before enlistment and today im posting after the passing out parade which symbolise the end of my 9 weeks of BMT. Just like the common saying in army goes, "Where Got Time", when you are serving the nation and only having 2 days of weekends to enjoy the civilian life, there is really no time for things like blogging or checking of social sites like facebook or twitters. Nonetheless, now that im done with my BMT part of NS, i shall take a few minute to look back the days in army, and treasure some of the great memories i had back there.
When i was first posted into Ninja Company i dun even have a slight idea of its reputation until i overheard others sighing over their fate as a Ninja. Although it is known to be the strictest and toughest company, im really proud to be part of the Ninja family. Whenever we reply to others that we are from Ninja, they will have that look of respect in their eyes because we made it through their training and have lived up to its reputation. It feels good too when we did a clean sweep on games day where we won almost every games there is, and goes around showing off that we are the champions. Its kinda a legacy too, for our commanders told us that for the past few batches, Ninja have always took the champion position. So its always up to us to keep it that way and when we do get the championship, we felt like we did the company and its past generations proud.
Yesterday was quite a slack as we were to get as much rest as we could before our high key the night 24km route march. The itinerary in the day was mainly breakfast, nap, lunch, nap, dinner, nap, pack and move out. That was really the best day of bmt which you will be hoping that everyday is just like this, until the start of the route march that is. It was actually more like 27km route march if you are really calculative but like another saying goes, "Life Goes On". As we marched, there were still many cyclists and party animals having their BBQ, tempting us with their satays and chicken wings aroma, as well as passerbys that helped to cheer us on even though we were disturbing them by taking up much of the pathway as we goes by. It is much better than marching in forests and tekong, for at least there are things to look at, and look forward to, such as the sight of the Singapore Flyer or MBS, which signal that we are closing to the finishing line. (Anyway, when we does have vision on the MBS, we were still like 5km away so it was more like a mindfucked thing)
And lastly was the Passing Out Parade, the one moment that we all been waiting for, after rehearsing it for like 7 times back in Tekong Island, did a fantastic march, threw our jockey cap and we are officially no longer a recruit! Now im going to enjoy my one week blocked leave, before i goes back to the army life next next monday. Hopefully, my next blogpost would not be 20months later when i ORD from everything. =/
