Day 2 - The Real Work Starts

No more sitting down in a room listening to trainers and reading off powerpoint slides because today is starting work with a buddy that will teach me everything i need to know over a period of 8 days.. Afterwards im supposingly on my own and things get a bit scary when you are still unsure of what to do.. yet have to do it all alone and no one to confirm your queries on..

Today basically learnt the most important part of the room and that is the Bed.. if it aint soo important why people offer things like Bed and Breakfast hotel eh? So i did about 7 beds.. as well as learnt what amenities the rooms should have, the types of towels required per room, and their turn down service which is my fav because its fast, easy, and non taxing on my mental and physical capability.. =/

And today for the first time.. i seen and tried something called Passion Fruit.. i first tried biting into it like an apple.. then peeling the dark color skin thinking its like orange and the redness part is edible.. then i realised its like open like longan.. Freaking sour so blehhh.. 

And i think turndown service is kinda ZZzzz to me.. in the beginning im doing the bed like arranging it nicely so the blanket cover the whole bed and put decor blanket and bloster on it.. done that until around 5pm then have to go back all rooms and do turndown service.. aka pull a bit of the blanket downwards, remove decor blanket and bloster.. =.=" so much for arranging it nicely.. but i guess 5 star standard must come with this.. and i love turn down so yeah no problem..

Shall attempt to learn Jap because today was quite hillarious when a Jap guests that only understand Jap and both my buddy and I do not understand Jap at all so we go back to hand language to try and figure things out.. Perhaps Jap will be a plus point and i can be promoted towards the front office department after NS.. =/

VIP are very important people so hotel make sure they recieved the best creme de la creme standard.. one of the suite room on the floor we were supposed to clean today was for a VIP 6 guest.. which is the highest rank of VIP or just below the VVIP rank.. so the room was done by TWO of the housekeeper managers and even the room service manager was called up to prepare and change the fruits personally.. giving the freshest fruits.. LOL..

shoes were not worned because it was afraid to dirty the floor.. more pictures were brought in to decorate the room.. the blanket was crumpled so calls were made for steam iron to be brought up immediately.. engineers were called to check on the rooms.. every corners which is carefully inspected and arranged.. can you imagine all the troubles went through because of just ONE VIP 6 guests? Amazing..

Lastly.. experienced the staff meal today.. a little like Army style where you just walked down the lane with a plate and tray and the kitchen staffs will scope the side dishes for you onto your plate.. Not bad as it have quite a variety.. so if they keep changing the types of sides.. it should be satisfy me just enough..

Anw rewind the timeline a bit back to last Sunday.. went to Qiann house to bake cheesecake.. we were too focused on the ingredients that we did not check on the equipments.. so we tried to improvise on those missing equipments but in the end its still unsuccessful so its alright.. and we will give it a try on my coming off day.. =)
